Screening at Golden Gate Sea Kayak Symposium

I’ll be headed south this Friday to attend the 5th annual Golden Gate Sea Kayak Symposium and screen Ikkatsu: The Roadless Coast. When you look at the roster of coaches and other presenters I must say I’m humbled to have been invited. Of course Ken will be presenting as well although he’s headed down earlier to visit some family before the big event.

The GGSKS has become the west coast premiere paddling symposium and attracts some of the finest in the sport of sea kayaking; look at this years roster of couches. I must say I feel exulted to be in the company of the likes of Justin Curgenven whom I’ve never met but of course followed closely and had no small part in influencing my desire to try my hand at film-making. And I’m looking forward to meeting the crew of OSOM (Out of Sight, Out of Mind), I’m sure we’ll have lots to talk about as they’re doing some work that parallels our own.

For those of you who have been following our project/documentary, you may have noticed that the bulk of promoting this film has fallen to Ken and I without much mention of Jason. Well, he’s alive and well and is very much a part of the films success; however his job is much less flexible then ours and he ate a large chuck of his time-off for the actual project. We certainly appreciate all his effort and time in making the project such a success.

Last I heard there were a few opening left for courses, if you’re really want to jump start your rough water paddling I’d say this is the place to do so. Here’s the link for registration.

Hope to see you there!
